Steam on the CLC in Liverpool 1948-68
This site serves as an attempt to compile information,
anecdotes, memories, photos and records, in connection with all things
CLC Liverpool between 1948 and 1968.
Hand in hand with this is an attempt to compile a
comprehensive database of locomotives that worked into the Liverpool
area of the CLC between 1948 and 1968. The developing database
(still in its early stages) has just been published. It goes without saying that such a database is never complete
and to this end I welcome any information that can be added to it.
Do you have any notes of locomotive workings
that you could share to help with the compilation? Do you have any
photo's of steam at work on these lines that you'd be willing to have
published at this site? If so please contact me via my email
address further down this page.
If in particular you have photo's of The Walton
Triangle , The Southport Extension , Huskisson or other little recorded
locations ,then I would be very pleased to hear from you!
Please send any information to:-

Its sad to report that Mr Jim Peden
recently died. Jim provided many local enthusiasts with many prints from
his extensive railway photograph collection and a number of his photo's
appear on this site. He will be missed.
